"Jemma is a talented performer who forms beautiful and instant connections with her very young audience.."
- Donna Wilcocks, Director of Billy Kids Early Learning Centre, Pymble
"On behalf of our Neighbourhood group, a message to say how much we enjoyed your efforts and presentation of the children stories you presented at our Xmas party held at Hanworth House. So much so we have been asked if you will be coming again next year!"
- Justeen Gregory, Zone co-ordinator for East Brisbane Neighbourhood Watch
writer and performer
Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, Jemma spent her younger years delving into classical music, dance and musical theatre. After completing a Bachelor of Music on the flute at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2011, Jemma shifted her focus onto music teaching, which naturally led her on a path of children's entertainment. After starting Little Jem Productions, Jem spent a year overseas in the Philippines and Canada, writing and performing in a children's web series called PreSchool Play. Now based in Sydney, she is the voice and operator behind the loveable owl puppet 'Hootabelle' in ABC Kids' Giggle and Hoot.
Jemma is deeply passionate about music education, nurturing the imagination and sharing the warmth and joy that the performing arts can bring to the community. Jemma regularly presents early childhood music workshops and performances all across Australia.
One small dream...
...can become one big fabulous creation!
Nurturing creativity is so important for a child's development- it allows them to express themselves in ways that feel safe for them, to push past fears and explore new things, and most importantly to find their own voice as a creative individual.
As a performer and music educator, it is my goal to always be inspiring my little audience to be brave explorers- of the outdoors (so important!), of their creative ideas, of their potential. With one idea, some inspiration and some help from our friends and family, anything is possible!
